How much Venetian plaster and fixative do you need?
Stucco veneziano and fixative primer — kg and packs for both from wall m² and editable consumption rates.
Quick answer
Venetian stucco jobs need two product lines: **fixative** on absorbent plaster (≈**0.15 kg/m²**) and **decorative stucco** (≈**2.8 kg/m²** total for burnished finish). Example wall **30 m²**: fixative 30 × 0.15 × 1.1 ≈ **5 kg** (1 × 5 kg pack) + stucco 30 × 2.8 × 1.1 ≈ **92 kg** → **4 × 25 kg**.

Venetian stucco is applied in multiple thin coats then burnished — typical total 2–3.5 kg/m² on prepared walls. Fixative on absorbent plaster is often 0.1–0.2 kg/m² (≈0.1–0.2 L/m² diluted). Sealers and wax are not included here.
How it works
Rates are editable — polished finishes with more passes use more stucco; skip fixative only on already sealed surfaces (not recommended on chalky old plaster). Wax and sealer topcoats are ordered separately.
Frequently asked questions
Is fixative mandatory before Venetian plaster?+
On new or porous mineral plaster, yes — it stabilizes suction and prevents dry-back that causes cracking. On already primed drywall or fixed old paint, a light fixative coat may be optional; ask your supplier.
How many kg of stucco per m²?+
Burnished Venetian finishes commonly land at 2–3.5 kg/m² total depending on passes and aggregate size. Enter what your TDS states — this calculator multiplies by area and rounds to pack sizes.
Same product for fixative and stucco?+
Usually not — fixative is a dilutable primer; stucco is the decorative lime paste. Some systems sell a single base — if yours does, combine the kg/m² in one field on the microcement/marmorino tool instead.
What pack sizes to order?+
Stucco commonly ships in 25 kg sacks; fixative in 5 kg buckets or 10 L cans (~1 kg/L). Adjust pack sizes in advanced — the output shows how many whole units to buy.
