How much marmorino plaster per m²?

Marmorino lime plaster — kg and bags needed from wall m², kg/m² yield and pack size.

Quick answer

Marmorino is applied and burnished in thin layers — finished consumption is often **1.5–2.5 kg/m²**, lower than thick mineral renders. Default **2 kg/m²** + 10% waste. Example: feature wall **18 m²** → 18 × 2 × 1.1 = **39.6 kg** → **2 × 25 kg bags**.

Marmorino is polished in thin passes — consumption is lower than thick renders, often 1.5–2.5 kg/m² for the decorative coat on prepared walls. We default to 2 kg/m². Primer or fixative on porous plaster is ordered separately (see the Venetian plaster calculator if you need both).

How it works

Lime-based marmorino needs a stable, primed substrate. On very absorbent old plaster, add fixative first (see Venetian plaster calculator). For application tools see marmorino lime plaster.

Frequently asked questions

Marmorino vs Venetian stucco — same quantity?+

Similar decorative lime products with comparable kg/m² when burnished thin. Marmorino often emphasizes marble powder finish; consumption depends on number of polish passes more than product name — use the rate your applicator quotes.

How many coats of marmorino?+

Typically two thin passes plus burnishing — the kg/m² field should reflect total material for the full decorative cycle, not per single coat. If your TDS quotes per coat, multiply before entering.

Can I use marmorino in a bathroom?+

Only with the correct breathable sealer/wax system rated for wet areas — raw lime absorbs moisture. Material kg is the same; budget extra for hydrophobic topcoats not included here.

Why 25 kg bags as default?+

Trade packs for lime plasters are commonly 25 kg sacks. Smaller 5–10 kg units exist for samples — change pack size in advanced settings.
