How much marmorino plaster per m²?

Quick answer
Marmorino is applied and burnished in thin layers — finished consumption is often 1.5–2.5 kg/m², lower than thick mineral renders. Default 2 kg/m² + 10% waste. Example: feature wall 18 m² → 18 × 2 × 1.1 = 39.6 kg → 2 × 25 kg bags.

Marmorino is polished in thin passes — consumption is lower than thick renders, often 1.5–2.5 kg/m² for the decorative coat on prepared walls. We default to 2 kg/m². Primer or fixative on porous plaster is ordered separately (see the Venetian plaster calculator if you need both).
How it works
Pros: natural lime look, breathable walls, deep polish without a plastic film, durable when maintained. Cons: needs skilled trowel work, longer cure than acrylic paints, sensitive to dirty or unstable substrates, and wet rooms only with the right sealer. It is a finish, not a structural render — cracks in the wall will telegraph through.
Wall prep before you open a bag: remove loose paint and dust; fill hollows so the surface is flat; on chalky or highly absorbent old plaster apply a lime plaster fixative (see also the Venetian plaster calculator). New drywall needs a bonding primer suited to mineral finishes. Skip oily residues and silicone — lime will not grip. Then apply marmorino in thin coats and burnish; tools and paste packs: marmorino lime plaster.
Lime finishes have one constraint that has nothing to do with kilograms: a wall has to be started and finished in a single session, with material from the same batch, from one edge to the other. Stop for lunch in the middle of a wall and the joint stays visible forever, because the part that began to set takes the burnish differently from the part applied fresh against it. Work out the largest area you can genuinely finish without stopping, and if the wall is bigger than that, plan the break at a corner or a change of plane where the eye already expects a line.
