Each takeoff where you pay a cabin pet fee. One-way = 1, typical round trip = 2. A connection on a separate ticket can mean more segments — check each airline’s fee rules.
Why exclude my own plane ticket?+
So the calculator isolates dog-driven costs (cabin fees, hotel pet fees, gear). Add your human airfare separately; the “pet % of trip” then shows how expensive bringing the dog is relative to lodging + pet fees.
Can I model two pets?+
